The Venue.

Is your venue easy to find?
Redhouse Wedding Barn is located in Sternfield, which is approximately 30-40 minutes from Ipswich, and a short drive from surrounding towns such as Aldeburgh, Snape & Saxmundham. Use the postcode IP17 1NG and your SatNav will direct you straight to the barn.

Are there any dates that the venue is closed?
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold events from the end of September through to the beginning of January, due to the fact the barn runs as Redhouse Christmas Barn during these dates.

Is your venue licensed to carry out civil ceremonies?
We now have our civil ceremonies license. You will need to book through Suffolk County Council to book your ceremony date & time.

Do you offer Step-Free access (Disabled)?
Yes, Whilst we have steps in some areas, all aspects of our venue has step free access for wheelchairs.

Will ours be the only wedding at your venue on the day?
Yes, yours will be the only event on the day to ensure your day is as special as possible.

How many people can you accommodate?
The venue holds a maximum of 90 people for your ceremony & sit down meal and up to 110 for your evening reception.

Is it ok to leave cars overnight?
Guests are permitted to leave cars overnight on site and return to collect them by 12pm the next day if we have another event.

(as governed by the local council & approved by the fire officer.)

Do you allow confetti to be thrown at the venue?
Yes, as long as it’s biodegradable.

What time can things be picked up after the wedding?
You are able to pick up any decorations and other items that are left behind the next working day. We will endeavour to pack down your decorations and leave them to one side ready for collection.

What are the size of the tables available?
We have 5 ft round tables which each seat 8 guests, a 3ft round table for the cake and another 3ft round table for your gift/postbox table. We also have several trestle tables available which can be used for your top table.

Can we have access to the venue the day before?
Absolutely. As long as there is not an event happening the day before your event. Please make sure to give enough notice so that a member of staff can accompany you.

The Barn:

When can we have access to the barn in terms of decorating it?
If there is no event the day before, you are welcome to access the venue the day before your event to set up – please contact a member of the team to arrange this. If there is an event the day before you can decorate the barn from 
10.00 am unless otherwise stipulated in your contract.

Is there an area that could be used as a crèche if needed?

The games room adjacent to the disabled toilet could serve as a crèche if smaller children are attending the event.

Does the barn have adequate ventilation, heating & cooling? 

Our Barn has Air Conditioning units fitted to provide adequate heating & cooling if required.

Food & Drink:

Do you have an in-house caterer whom we have to use?
Unfortunately not, we don’t have in-house caterers, meaning you are welcome to use whichever caterer you like to tailor your day to your tastes.

Do you include a cake stand and knife if required?
We kindly ask that you provide a suitable knife & serving slice, alternatively please ask your caterer.

Do you have a preferred order of service?
We will work around your needs and desires to ensure the day runs the way you want it to.

What time can we party til?

We are able to hold 2 events per calendar month until 12am. Other events can run until 10 pm. Please check availability.

Do you insist on supplying the wine and champagne?
No; however, if you do wish to supply your own wine and/or champagne, there is a charge of £7 per bottle corkage (exclusive of VAT).
